December Tips

With Christmas time upon us, it can be nice to have a bit more spare time as the allotment becomes less time consuming. Your visits to the allotment may become short and sweet but it is important to continue to visit regularly: turn over your compost, check on your plants, clean up any messes, check on your winter protection.

December can also be the perfect opportunity to put your supplies for the following year on your Christmas list and plan for the year ahead.

December Planting

December can be a quiet month but there are still things which can be planted. It can be the perfect month to start an indoor herb garden. There’s a small variety of other things to continue planting as well: garlic, dormant barefoot fruit trees, broad bean, and winter salad leaves.
