September Tips
As the temperatures begin to cool tasks move away from keeping up with the harvest towards preparing your allotment for the Winter. Though there will still be plenty of harvesting to do throughout the month!
As beds begin to empty, it is key to remove spent plants and add key nutrients back into your soil. Now is also a good time to turn over your compost so that you can use it on the beds.
Check your supplies and the condition of your allotment to weather the harsher Winter months – patching leaks, reinforcing paths, ordering in supplies for over-Wintering crops and keeping your allotment healthy as the temperatures drop.
September Planting

- Broad beans,
- Garlic,
