Redditch Holocaust Memorial Day Community Art Project
Holocaust Memorial Day is the day for everyone to remember the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution and in genocides around the world. This year marks the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and the 30th Anniversary of the crimes in Bosnia. The genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur are also commemorated.
In Redditch, we decided to commemorate this important day by expressing our feelings through poetry, art, sculpture and bringing our ideas together in a piece of collaborative artwork that is now on display in Redditch Library.
We engaged with the wider community and received artwork from Arrow Vale RSA Academy, Ipsley CE RSA Academy, St Bede's Catholic Middle School, Tudor Grange Academy, Worcester Community Trust Craft Group and more. We would like to thank Redditch Library for hosting the exhibition which will be on display for 2 more weeks.
