Redditch Holocaust Memorial Day 2025

This year, we marked the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica with a special talk from survivor Mirsad Solakovic: Author of The Boy Who Said Nothing and survivor of the Bosnian Genocide. 

Our outdoor service for Holocaust Memorial Day took place on Sunday 26th January 2025. The commemoration took place at the Holocaust Memorial Marker in Redditch Town Centre. The service included a selection of reflective readings and the laying of white roses led by Councilor Bill Hartnett. 

We decided to commemorate this important day by expressing our feelings through art. We engaged with the wider community and received artwork from Arrow Vale RSA Academy, Ipsley CE RSA Academy, St Bede's Catholic Middle School, Tudor Grange Academy, Worcester Community Trust Craft Group and more. We would like to thank Redditch Library for hosting the exhibition which will be on display for 2 more weeks.
