Walking Cricket

Redditch Borough Council and Worcestershire Association of Carers, are re-starting a our Summer Walking Cricket session to Redditch.

Free Walking Cricket sessions, all equipment and a coach is being provided.

Session details:

  • Mondays from 17th June 2024.
  • 6pm to 7pm
  • Terry Memorial Fields (on Former Bridely Moor High School Field)

Assess to astro cricket pitch, via Sallie Swan Street (off Bromsgrove Road) past Redditch United Football Club.

More about Walking Cricket

Walking Cricket is a slower version of the game we all love, it has many physical, social and mental benefits.  The programme benefits people in many ways including staying active and meeting new people.

The benefits include:

  • improves heart health, including reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure
  • improves flexibility and range of movement, keeping you mobile and reducing the risk of injury
  • improves strength and endurance, keeping you active and independent living
  • boosts mental health and well-being, playing with others can help boost your mood as it relieves stress and anxiety
  • improves hand to eye co-ordination (motor skills)
