People & Skills - UK Shared Prosperity Fund

People & Skills is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund until March 2025. There are several organisations who can provide help and support to access benefits, gain new skills/qualifications and valuable experiences to help secure employment. The organisations providing the support are listed below.

Residents can self-refer to one organisation and do not need to be referred. Please contact the organisations direct by using the links below to find out more information.

Beam

A community-based programme where residents are supported by key workers to provide tailored employment-related coaching. Employment support for economically inactive people. Courses including basic, life and career skills and increase levels of digital inclusion by essential digital skills. Employment support to help increasing housing affordability. Support to become financially independent and help to secure employment and/or training.

Engage

This project will help residents to secure employment, access training and build job skills. Courses including basic, life and career skills and increase levels of digital inclusion with essential digital skills. Find your local centre here. 

Redditch Youth Hub

Redditch Youth Hub is a dedicated space for young people in Worcestershire aged 16 to 24 to help find the right pathway into employment, training, and education. Our aim is to make it easier to access the support by providing a single location to improve the available pathways.

The Volunteer Centre

The Volunteer Centre helps people to find volunteer roles by matching them to opportunities which best fit the skills and interests they have. Promoting the benefits volunteering offers such as improved mental health, making friends and gaining skills for work, the Volunteer Centre also advertises volunteering opportunities from local organisations through social media, websites and face-to-face.

Volunteer it Yourself

Providing support across Bromsgrove and Redditch the VIY courses including basic, life and career skills and enrichment and volunteering activities. Supporting young people to learn trade skills.

Wellbeing at Work

A work placement initiative supporting 16-50+ age groups to gain new skills/qualifications to improve life chances and volunteering opportunities to provide peer support with a focus on building confidence and positive wellbeing alongside accredited learning. There is a 9 week course leading to qualifications in allergy awareness, food hygiene level 2, health and safety certificate and an opportunity to update your CV.
