We’re going on an egg hunt!

School holiday activities and support will be well received by many families across the borough this Easter.

An inter-department program is being created by Youth Officers in Redditch Borough Council’s Community Safety Team, Sports Development Team, and the Starting Well Partnership to provide fun activities and support for families over the two-week break. This project is also being supported with funding from Worcestershire Children First and Ready Steady Worcestershire.

The team is organising themed outdoor activities such as Easter Egg Hunts, as well as providing support through Libraries, Homestart and Youth Providers for families who would normally receive free school meals.

Over the course of the school holiday, 1000 Easter eggs will be hidden around the borough for families to take part in 9* organised egg ‘hunts’ in Matchborough, Woodrow, Batchley, Abbeydale and Church Hill. Families can also take part in a variety of different sports and activities over the break.

Louise Hall Community Team Leader said: “It is important to us to make a difference in the lives of local families and give them the opportunity to come together and enjoy the fun that Easter brings, especially as school holidays can be a difficult time for some. Thank you to everyone who has helped make it happen! Look out for an egg hunt near you!”

*Some of the hunts are limited to families who currently access Starting Well Services, others are open to all.
