VCS invited to bid for up to £10k from council’s Main Grants pot 2024/25
Voluntary and community groups are invited to bid for up to £10k of the council’s grant funding for 2024/25 which opens for applications this week.
A total of £100k is available to bid for, anyone interested in applying can bid for funding from £500 up to £10K, to help with core costs and salaries or to support them to deliver great community events, projects, and activities.
Owing to a surge in smaller applications last year, this year a separate £10k pot has been ringfenced specifically for projects seeking grants between £500 and £2k. This ensures these smaller initiatives receive enhanced consideration and more opportunity in the competitive bidding process.
The application process opens from 9am on Thursday 1st February, until 4pm on Friday 23rd February 2023.
Leader of Redditch Borough Council, Cllr Matt Dormer, said: “As a council we are committed to supporting voluntary community sector organisations to deliver projects and activities that have a positive and beneficial impact on Redditch and its residents.
“After the overwhelming response to the grant scheme from smaller VCS organisations last year, we wanted to help more of these ideas become a reality and give additional smaller-scale projects a chance to thrive and make a difference in our communities.
“This means that more groups have the opportunity to apply, whether they need £500, £5000 or more. If you think you could benefit from this grant funding, please submit a bid, or get in touch to find out more.”
There is set criteria in place that anyone wishing to apply must meet. Each proposed project must be something that is needed in the area, well planned, outcome focussed and aligned to the Council’s Strategic Purposes.
