Mother’s Meeting Moves to Morton
Redditch ‘Moms’ are being urged to meet up and move to improve their physical and mental health as an initiative continues in 2025 across the Borough.
The scheme, now taking place at Morton Stanley Park, will see ‘moms’ and carers, after dropping off children at school, getting together for a walk and a chat.
Health Walks for Moms, led by volunteers, aims to improve physical and mental health and will suit all abilities who can choose their own pace.
Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Cllr Juliet Barker Smith, said: “It is fantastic news that this initiative has been a success and is continuing into the new year with a new home!”
Starting from its new home on Friday 17th of January, the FREE weekly sessions are run by the Redditch Council and supported by Worcestershire Health Walks.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Joe Baker, said: “The ‘Health Walk for Moms’ initiative has been received fantastically by residents and has been made a success by the lovely volunteers. It is great to see that it continues into 2025!”
Anyone that wants to take part in these events should meet outside the café in Morton Stanley Park for the first session on Friday 17th of January at 9:30am (after the school run!).
