Help put the green in “Green Fair”

Plans are underway to organise the popular Green Fair and Lions’ Funday and Redditch Borough Council are calling on the community to make it a more eco-friendly event.

The annual fun day, which will take place at Arrow Valley Country Park on 17th July, will have a new “Green Village” and the council’s Parks and Events Team are offering stalls and space in this area of the event.

To support the Council’s declaration of a Climate Change Emergency, this year they are looking for local entrepreneurs, businesses, traders, groups, organisations, and hobbyists with a focus on the environment to showcase what they do and engage with the local community.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Sustainable products
  • Innovative technology
  • Holistic and wellbeing lifestyles
  • Creative approaches to zero emissions
  • Food which doesn’t cost the earth!
  • And more…

Portfolio Holder for Climate Change, Cllr Anthony Lovell, said: “If your organisation, enterprise, or group has taken steps to reduce its carbon footprint, if you’re working towards a green agenda, or being eco-friendly is your passion and hobby, then we want to hear from you. We have a great  community in Redditch and we want to help engage more people in this important conversation. Contact our team today to attend the Green Fair and Lions’ Fun Day and make a difference."

Portfolio Holder for Leisure Services, Cllr Joanne Beecham, said: “The Green Fair and Lions’ Fun Day is always a really popular event and with everything currently going on in the world and the pandemic still lingering, it will be wonderful to have something fun to look forward to. Climate Change is an important issue and I am proud that we can bring this green element back to the event.”

Anyone who is interested in having a stall at the event to showcase or engage the community should contact the events team
