Help Is At Hand
Caring Redditch residents are urged to ‘pick up and pass on’ useful numbers to friends, family and neighbours who they feel may benefit from extra help and support.
Working with partners the Borough Council has produced the card which will easily fit into a purse, wallet or a phone case and which showcases the contact details of groups and organisations which can offer help and guidance.
The card signposts people to where advice and possible extra funding can be found including the Council’s website where a more exhaustive list can be found.
Redditch Borough Council’s Portfolio-Holder for Community Services, Cllr Monica Stringfellow said: “We recognise that residents may not realise there could be funding which they're eligible for, so by working together with our partners, we can signpost them where to get the right support and put them in touch with experts who can help."
Partners including Age UK, Citizen’s Advice, ActOnEnergy and the Borough and County Councils are just some agencies on the card.
Council Leader Joe Baker said: “Not everyone has access to social media or a smartphone so by creating a hard copy of this mini-directory we making support even easier to access. “And I urge residents to help us to get these to the people who need this help. Please pick up a card and pass it on.”
The card is available at the Council’s Customer Service Centre, Libraries, community centres, Abbey Stadium and the Boathouse at Arrow Valley. They can also be picked up via partners. For more information visit Your Services Working Together For You.
