1-2-1 Q&As on the ABCs of council purchasing
Redditch businesses that want to win work from the borough council are being offered free one-to-one sessions on how.
Special question and answer sessions can now be booked by any local business that wants to understand how to spot and bid for contract opportunities from the council.
Redditch Borough Council’s procurement team, which supports all the authority’s departments with their purchasing, is making itself available to Redditch firms that want more information on the process – a process that applies not only to council contracts but to work from the wider public sector too.
Head of Legal and Democratic Services Claire Felton said: “The council always needs contractors to supply various goods or services. Any firm that wants to start winning that work needs to understand how the system works, in terms of how the opportunities come up and the surrounding processes, rules, and regulations. It isn’t onerous, but it is specific, and we want to help anyone in Redditch that wants to connect to these opportunities both here and further afield.”
Businesses will be able to ask the specialists at the Town Hall their own questions on how to get notified when the council wants to buy something, how to respond, and the requirements of that process including tendering and joining frameworks.
30-minute Microsoft Teams appointments are now available on either Wednesday April 27 or Wednesday May 4. Just contact the council's procurement team.
Current contract opportunities and more information on the council’s purchasing are available anytime at www.redditchbc.gov.uk/procurement.
