Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Panel
The Police and Justice Act 2006 required all local authorities to have a Scrutiny Committee designated with the responsibility for reviewing the local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP). In Redditch a new Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Panel was established to review the work of the local CDRP, which is the North Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership.
The Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Panel is a Sub-Committee of the main Overview and Scrutiny Committee and is chaired by a member of the Committee. The Panel is held to account through the Chair, who is required to provide regular updates at meetings of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
The Panel concentrates on the work of the partnership as a whole, rather than on the work of specific organisations represented on the Partnership. The Panel has the authority to establish informal working parties of elected Councillors to undertake more detailed policy review work.
Meetings of the Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Panel generally take place at Redditch Town Hall and are open to public attendance. To find out when the next meeting of the Panel will be taking place please click here Browse Meetings
