The Redditch Community Hub

A new community hub is part of improvements to Redditch town centre and seeks to bring the borough council, NHS and other services and tenants into a transformed Redditch Town Hall.

The purpose of the hub is to create a renewed facility for people to easily access multiple tenant services in one place, and which is significantly more efficient to run.

The NHS parts of it are already complete.

Plans for the rest of the hub are currently changing, after Redditch Borough Council’s Executive Committee voted on July 29 to withdraw an invitation to Redditch Library to move into it.

The borough council will now work on new plans for the hub, including bringing other tenants into it.

The council will also now work with the Redditch Town Deal Board and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to determine the most effective alternative use for £4m of Towns Fund money previously approved under the Town Investment Plan for the redevelopment of the current library site.

Reports on the revised plans are now expected before the council’s Executive Committee in September.
