Data Rights Request
What information do we collect?
Personal information collected to respond to a data rights request will vary depending on the request and the contact the person has had with the council. It could include, name, address, contact details, history with the council, and departments accessed.
Why do we collect this information?
This information is collected to enable us to identify the data subject and the areas of council the data subjects information may be stored. The legal basis for processing this information is legal obligation.
Who do we share this information with?
In some circumstances we will share some personal information with other teams in the council to enable us to respond to the request. We do not routinely share the information with anyone else.
How long is the information kept?
We keep a file of the request and all correspondents for 2 years. A log of the request including the data subjects name is kept for 6 years.
