Dial a Ride

Redditch Borough Council will collect personal information about you to provide the Dial A Ride Service. 

Why do we collect information?

The purpose for collecting the personal data is to enable the provision of a Dial A Ride Service. The legal basis for this processing is to fulfil a contractual obligation; by signing up to the Dial A Ride Service you are entering into a contract, we require the personal data requested to fulfil this contract safely.  We collect some relevant health, disability, and mobility information to allow us to provide the service, this is done so under “Reasons of substantial public interest under equality of opportunity or treatment”.

What do we collect?

  • Name
  • Address
  • DOB
  • Gender
  • Disability/medical information
  • Mobility Needs
  • Mobility Aids used
  • GP Name and Address
  • Health Needs
  • Next of Kin details
  • Contact information (Phone numbers/email)
  • Emergency contact information
  • Location Data
  • Key Safe Access Numbers (If required)
  • WCC Concessionary bus pass details

Who has access to the information?

This information will be accessible by those staff and volunteers working in the Dial A Ride Service. This information will not be shared/sold to any other service/organisation unless we have duty to do so under law.

Is the information sent outside the UK?

This Information will not be transferred outside of the UK.

How long is the information kept?

The information will be kept for 12 months after the last access of the service. You may request for information to be removed from our records at any time by contacting us in writing at Crossgates Depot, Crossgates Road, Park Farm Ind Est, Redditch, B98 7SN or sending an email to dialaride@redditchandbromsgrove.gov.uk.

Are any decisions made about my information automated?

Decisions around this information are not made by automated means.
